P.9100 is Panerai's automatic movement with chronograph functions - with a vertical clutch and column wheel, the chronograph minutes are displayed by a central hand that jumps forward every 60 seconds. The movement includes a flyback function, originally designed for pilots, allowing chronograph hands to be reset and restarted instantly with a single push, rather than stopping, resetting, and restarting in three steps. This function is controlled by a push-button at eight o’clock, aided by two patented mechanisms.
